Clara Jimeno has over 20 years of experience in international development and gender equality, with 12 years working in multilateral and development institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGO) and the private sector in Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada. Substantial multicultural and community development experience working with NGOS in Ottawa. Clara has conducted analysis and research projects in Asia, Middle East, Eastern European, Africa and Latin America. Clara has experience in diverse positions in the public and academic sectors in Guatemala on socio-economic, development issues and public policy. Fluent in English Spanish and good French comprehension.
Experience working with: multilateral, government, private sector and non-governmental organizations, such as PAHO, OAS, UNIFEM, CIDA, OXFAM, Canadian Human Rights Commission, the Canadian Public Health Association, Carleton University-Ottawa, Latin American Women’s Support Organization.
Areas of Expertise: gender equality, human rights, results-based and human rights-based approaches, macroeconomic and /planning/assessment, participatory approaches, sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, training needs-assessments, developing monitoring tools and documenting best practices and lessons learned.
Field experience working/researching in: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Analysis/Research experience in: Cameroon, China, Bangladesh, Equatorial Guinea, Georgia, Haiti, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Philippines, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tanzania, and Ukraine.
